December

Our Land

We have found our land, it is in Worcester, exactly 1 mile due east of our present location, in fact we can hike to it via the trails behind our house, in fact it is just across the beaver pond we found up there when we first moved in and thought we had found a secluded alpine place before we noticed the road and a house up there as well.  It is 10+ acres with a small deer hunting camp on the property. It is on the West side of Hobart Mountain and most of the property is sloping hillside with a 1/2 acre open area on the western edge along Eagle Ledge Trail and the beaver pond. There are 2 streams, a gorge and a series of cascades on the property. We plan on moving onto it in April after we get back from Stacey’s wedding in Phoenix!

The Holidays

We celebrated the solstice with a potluck and winter tree ceremony and candle ritual on the 19th of December. Ambiana went to the Christmas revels in NH with me and to the Nutcracker with Colleen. We spent Christmas week opening  the gifts sent to us by our families. Thank you all so much. On Christmas day we tried to go swimming but had no luck and ended up the next day at the Upper Valley Aquatic Center in White River Junction for swim.

NYC for New Year’s Eve

We went to NYC to visit Debbie, Aaron and Hayden for the New Year

Gaelen & Ambiana and I went into the city.

We visited the MET to find William the blue hippo beloved to us from a children’s book.

I also wanted to share with them The Storm my favorite painting from the days I spent in NYC back in the 80’s after college.

and we stopped by the Plaza Hotel to see Eloise, another character from a children’s book and one who introduced Ambiana to tantrums :}

On New Years day we hiked to the train and went to a Science Museum.

It was a fun trip and good to see our friends but we are happy to be back home and enjoying the snow!
